Treatment & Support Services for Families of Individuals Who Created a Sexual Offence
This service is reserved for the use of family members of an individual who created a sexual offence of some kind.
Treatment allows family members to understand the impact of their loved one’s actions. Clients understand and address feelings of shame, guilt, and resentment they may have.
Therapy respects client wishes to continue or end a relationship with a person who creates a sex offence. Support is offered in both individual and group treatment settings.
Family Re-Integration
If both family members and offenders agree, this service works with all individuals involved in an effort to re-integrate offenders into family dynamics. This could entail parental figures, siblings, spouses, offspring, or extended family.
Family reintegration can only take place once agreed upon by the individual’s family. This form of treatment works with clients to promote understanding for past offences, victim empathy/remorse, and healthy family interactions.
Mediated Victim Services
Treatment entails mediated interactions involving individuals of sex offences, victims, and a trained professional. Offender-Victim interactions only take place after it is approved by the victim.
This form of treatment encourages, victim empathy and remorse, understanding, pro-social development and change.
Therapy is attained through the use of an intensive safety plan.
