There are just three steps to begin. The first step is fill out our appointment request form. After we receive your appointment request, we will email you an intake form that can can complete and send back to us. The final step is to arrange a time for the meeting and connect with your therapist.

During your first virtual therapy session you can expect your therapist to gather information about you, your reasons for seeking therapy, and your goals. Your therapist will also discuss confidentiality, their therapeutic approach, and logistics like session frequency. It’s a time to assess if the therapist is a good fit for you and to start building trust. 

If you have a preferred therapist, we will check their availability. If your preferred therapists is unavailable, we will match you with a therapist based on your needs.

Please call your provider directly to see if you are covered for counselling services with a registered social worker with an MSW. After paying the full appointment fee, you will be provided with a receipt which can be submitted for your reimbursement.

Generally, our online therapy sessions typically last between 50 minutes to an hour. The duration can be influenced by the therapists’ recommendations, insurance requirements, and your specific needs.

First, find a quiet, safe, and private place to talk to your therapist. Next, ensure you have a stable internet connection and your device is charged. It’s also important to dress in a manner you feel most comfortable and to have a plan on how you can take notes. Finally, have a drink in front of you, and perhaps tissues, should you need them.

Research as proven that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy. The research indicates that for mild to moderate mental health issues, virtual therapy achieves comparable outcomes to traditional face-to-face sessions. However, for severe or complex conditions, in-person therapy may be more suitable.
